A downloadable game

COMING SOON

Welcome to The BAYN Oracles, a set of rules designed specifically for solo roleplaying enthusiasts.

In solo play, you take on the dual roles of both the player and the Game Master (GM), creating the narrative while also trying to live it through the eyes of your character.

B.A.Y.N. stands for But, And, Yes, and No—the four key responses that drive this oracle system and shape the direction of your story.

Whether you’re using a stat-less system or integrating it into more traditional mechanics, BAYN enhances your ability to create meaningful, engaging narratives without the need for a separate GM.

At the heart of The BAYN Oracles lies a versatile yes/no oracle paired with approx. 100 situation specific y/n questions designed to inspire fresh ideas, introduce challenges or skill checks and to cause troubles, complications and twists.

These questions guide your story, offering direction when decisions are unclear and helping you maintain narrative momentum.

This guide also includes a robust set of system agnostic keyword tables. However, BAYN can also work with tables and inspiration from any existing system.

Why BAYN Is Essential for Solo RPGs

Solo roleplaying offers unparalleled freedom, but it also presents unique challenges - especially for people with ADHD, Asperger’s, aphantasia or limited imaginations.

One of the most common hurdles is knowing what questions to ask to keep the story moving.

Without the questions, a solo game can stall, leading to frustration or a loss of immersion.

The BAYN Oracles solve this by providing pre-written Yes/No questions and hundreds of keywords that encourage creativity and help you shape a narrative that feels alive and surprising.

Redefining Prewritten Modules for Solo Play

As well allowing you to create your own adventures on the fly, BAYN is also designed to work with prewritten modules.

Prewritten modules often lose their sense of mystery when played solo, especially if you’ve read the module beforehand.

How can you be both the player and the GM without letting your foreknowledge influence the character’s decisions?

The BAYN Oracles offer a solution: a unique system of questions and keyword prompts that allow your character to act independently of what you, the player, know.

With BAYN, prewritten modules become dynamic and unpredictable:

  • Hidden secrets may stay hidden: A concealed door might no longer exist for your character, or they might fail to discover it.
  • Surprises feel real again: Your character may walk into a room completely unaware of impending danger, even though you, the player, know what lies ahead.
  • Unpredictable exploration: You may bypass areas that your player self knows are filled with treasure, staying true to your character’s motivations and choices.

This approach reinjects tension, discovery, and authenticity into prebuilt adventures, making even familiar modules feel fresh and engaging.

Includes:

  • Yes/No/But/And Oracles
  • A single 2 Page Oracle packed with 47 keyword tables
  • 6 (3 x double sided) Bonus oracles sheets with tables designed to enhance the base page with keywords for Sci-Fi, Space, Feudal Japan, Post Apocalyptic, Steampunk, War Zone, Western, Pirate, and Horror themes
  • System Agnostic (works with Ironsworn and most other systems)
  • Stat-less or stats based Y/N Oracles

Note: This is currently in final draft and will be released before Christmas.
